600m

The 600m is one and a-half laps of the track.
Three children can run for a school in each race, giving a maximum of 24 children. All children for an age group & gender run together.
The start is on a curve. No matter where the children start on the curve they will run the same distance. They will be instructed not to bunch up and in so doing risk causing a fall.
A bell will be rung at 200m for each athlete, indicating they are starting their last lap.
At the end the line judges will keep them in the order they finished in whilst taking numbers.
